Sample tour itinerary
Day 1 Nairobi
Travel from London or a regional airport on your overnight flight to Nairobi. Our local representatives will meet you and transfer you to your chosen hotel.
Day 2 Nairobi / Masai Mara
Today start your 'out of Africa ' adventure by driving across the Great Rift Valley escarpment to the Masai Mara Game Reserve. The drive will give you a glimpse of the dramatic geological forces that have been at work beneath the African continent for thousands of years. The rift ranges in elevation from 1,300 feet below sea level in northern Kenya , to 6,000 feet above sea level in southern Kenya.
Enjoy lunch at one of the lodges en route. Experience an afternoon game drive returning to the lodge for dinner
Day 3 Masai Mara
Enjoy an early morning and late afternoon game drive in Kenya 's most prolific national park; enjoy the hospitality at the Mara Serena Lodge and its spectacular views.
Day 4 Sirari border/Serengeti
After early breakfast pick up your picnic lunch and drive to Sirari boarder. Meet on arrival at Sirari border (picnic lunches ex Kenya ) and drive to Serengeti Serena lodge.
An early departure today would take you to Sirari Border and the Serengeti - with over 6,000 square miles of open plains which is reputed to have the largest concentration of animals in the world. About1.5 million wildebeest mirgrate through the park and the noise and sight of these vast herds is unforgettable. Depending on the rains from October to December they are moving south to the central plains and then gradually from February onwards, travelling north and west as new grass appears. By June or July are overlapping into the Masai Mara before turning in about October to restart the whole amazing journey again.
Day 5 Serengeti
Morning and afternoon game drives in Serengeti.
Day 6 Serengeti/Ngorongoro
Enjoy your last game drive in the Serengeti before heading on to the vast crater (Ngorongoro) considered by many to be one of the Wonders of the World, offers superb game viewing. Descent by four wheel drive vehicle and spend time exploring. Rhino, elephant, lion and wildebeest are all resident. After breakfast enjoy a morning game drive in Serengeti
After lunch drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Day 7 Ngorongoro
Time to relax at the Lodge.
Day 8 Ngorongoro/Lake Manyara
This morning leave Ngorongoro and head for Lake Manyara famous for its resident elephant, hippo and buffalo. Large flocks of flamingoes are seasonal here and you may see the famous tree climbing lions. Overnight at your lodge within Manyara National park.
Day 9 Ngorongoro/Arusha/Mombasa
This morning you can continue to Arusha - dominated by the volcanoes mt Meru and Mt Kilimanjaro. The national park is home to buffalo, leopard, hyena, baboon, colobus monkey, elephant, rhino and giraffe. A walking safari around the Momella Lakes and Ngrudoto crater are highly recommended. You can spend a night or two at Arusha before returning by short flight to Mombasa.
Day 10 - 15 Mombasa - or your choice of coastal area
Enjoy time on Kenya 's tropical coast boasting over 300 miles of white sand beaches lapped by the warm waters of the Indian Ocean.
You can also stay at the small enchanting island of Lamu or North Malindi which offers a range of markets and Watamu fringes the waters of the marine national park. There is an endless choice of accommodation to choose from in all these areas.
Day 16 Mombasa - London Heathrow
Today is time to leave your 'out of Africa' experience and head home on your flight via Nairobi to London.
