Sample tour itinerary
Day 1 London Heathrow - Cairo
Travel from London to Cairo where you will be met and transferred to your hotel.
Day 2 Cairo
Enjoy a full day tour of Cairo to include Egypt 's oldest capital, Memphis before continuing to Saqqara , one of the most extensive archaeological sites in Egypt. The highlight will be a visit to the world famous pyramids, one of the last remaining wonders of the ancient world.
Day 3 Cairo
Travel to Alexandra for the day. With its Mediterranean atmosphere and Greek and Roman heritage, it is an Egyptian city unlike any other. The tour will include visits to the Catacomb, Roman Theatre , Pompeys Pillars, the library and Mantaza Gardens.
Day 4 Cairo
Spend another enjoyable day in Cairo visiting the Museum with over 100,000 Egyptian artifacts, the Citadel in the Islamic quarter and the khan El Khalili bazaar where you can haggle for bargains. Afterwards transfer to the station for the overnight train to Luxor.
Day 5 Luxor
Upon arrival in Luxor our agents will meet you and transfer you to your home for the next four nights, the MS Sherry cruise boat. In the afternoon there is the opportunity to visit the Luxor and Karnak Temples dating back to around 1600BC.
Day 6 Luxor / Esna
In the morning you will visit the West Bank and the Valley of the Kings where you can view some of the 62 known tombs buried here. Continue to the unique temple of Deir El Bahari before rejoining the cruise. You will continue to sail on to Esna and moor there for the night.
Day 7 Esna / Edfu / Kom Ombo / Aswan
This morning sail to Edfu and visit the Temple of Horus , before sailing on to Kom Ombo. This evening you will moor at Aswan for the night.
Day 8 Aswan
An enjoyable morning tour begins with a visit to the gigantic High Dam. Continue to the unfinished Obelisk, still attached to the granite and believed to have been constructed and abandoned during the reign of Queen Hashepsat. Finally sail to the beautiful island Temple of Philae , built for the God Isis and saved from flooding after the building of the high dam. Tonight you will be moored in Aswan.
Day 9 Abu Simbel
This morning enjoy a sail on a Felucca across the Nile and visit the pink granite structure of the Aga Khan's Mausoleum. Disembark from the MS Sherry where you will transfer by road to Abu Simbel where you will spend the night
Day 10 Abu Simbel to Luxor
This morning you will see the awe inspiring temple dedicated to Ramses II. After the visit you will be transferred to Luxor.
Day 11 Luxor
In the morning you will have the opportunity to visit the temple of Hathor at Dendera. The remainder of the day may be spent relaxing in your hotel or shopping for bargains.
Day 12 Luxor
Spend an enjoyable morning at the Luxor Museums where you can view an amazing range of exhibits discovered in the temples of ancient Thebes. Return to your hotel afterwards to relax for the remainder of your stay.
Day 13 Luxor Heathrow
Transfer to the airport for your return flight to London via Cairo.
